Are your telemarketing calls legally compliant with the FTC?

The Federal trade commission (FTC) “Telemarketing Sales Rule” requires telemarketers to abide by specific guidelines.  If you make outbound sales calls, there are legal requirements that must be followed at all times.

  • Deceptive telemarketing acts or practices, such as failure to disclose truthfully All material aspect of an investment opportunity including, but not limited to, risk, liquidity, earnings potential, or profitability.
  • Making a false or misleading statement to induce any person to pay for goods or services or to induce a charitable contribution.
  • Abusive telemarketing acts or practices, such as threats, intimidation, or the use of profane or obscene language
  • Disclosing or receiving, for consideration, unencrypted consumer account numbers for use in telemarketing
  • Misrepresenting the total costs to purchase, receive, or use, and the quantity of, any goods or services that are the subject of a sales offer;
